That always takes some time. Build up your site first, and then contact people who have similar websites and ask them to do link exchanges. Just keep working at it. If you have quality information people are more likely to link to you. Use digg.com. But don't do that until you've established the website fairly well.

Thanks for the great post and making me realise that its not easy to get dofollow backlinks, what you said are really realsitic incentives... In posts from other blogs it makes it sound all easy when in fact finding sources is actually hard. Thanks for the great post!

Getting Backlinks from Social bookmarking sites is a real hard work, you need feed in datas regularly but the result pays it all. Can you suggest any software which can do it all easily.

Just to expand on your point about 'spreading yourself thinly', I think it's also wise to spread your links across many different sites rather than trying to get many links from one site. I'm not sure how much the search engines would credit you for more than a couple of links anyway.

I personally never seek to get more than two at most links from any one site as I would think that it looks more natural to the search engines.

their are so many ways to get backlinks but the one thing that really bothers me is when you get a backlink but its not permanent or it gets deleted because its really a daunting task which than become an even more of a tedious process
